a) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question, and indicate that question by colouring it green.

b) Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you. I tag: I tag everyone who wants to do this :)

A weekend

bunny
Wow. I've been... busy then not, shall I say? lol.

Managed to get that report done on Thursday night thank goodness! Wednesday night was FANTASTIC though, So glad I went. Feel somewhat refreshing. Pole-dancing just shouldn't be done, though...

Recovered by Thursday night to finish this report, and then had a really good day on Friday. Even work was brilliant! Dancing around for most of the shift. Dirty Dancing song came on too! Then there was Children in Need. It's something I really believe in.. and they raised £20million just on that one night alone. I now have Pudsey stickers on my laptop hehe. We had Amy, April and Cheryl round for dinner, CiN and then Singstar Superstar. Oh my god. Never let me and April near microphones after vodka again. Please!

Saturday and Sunday though have largely been spent relaxing. Think it's been needed. Although we have an Airline Operations report due Tuesday, but it's mostly done to be honest. Just need to piece a couple of things together and then conclude. Not too bad. We missed his class last week though, so don't quite know how this weeks is going to go when he sees us... but we'll find out eventually.

I've started writing more again this weekend too!!! It's probably helped me relax more than anyone could ever imagine. Writing is just... it's just a part of me. I love it so much. 5 years ago I started, and haven't really given it up since. met so many great people through it, too. Nothing I regret.

So this week's looking fairly quiet so far. Tomorrow I'm in work, class and then meeting in the library, Tuesday is just classes all day... Wednesday working and then hopefully going to see the local Christmas Lights being turned on, Thursday got a meeting and then a graduate careers fair, then Friday uni and work. Normal old week, really. Though going to see the Fratellis soon too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!

So yes, busy tiiiiiiimes.

Loves much

This is what happens when....

...You have no will power.

I'm currently rummaging around trying to find anything to make some mouse ears out of. Wasn't going to go out. Apparently, now I am!!! Typical, huh?

Maybe, just maybe.... hold on.Okay that was a long shot. Apparently, Asda don't have any either. Short of going to the library and asking people there if they have any... it isn't going to happen.

So, will just have to make-do with the bunny ears Beck is offering to lend me..

In first year, I wrote a thought. The thought was that if the guy I liked could have girls who liked to dress up as bunny-girls, why would he want me?

Tonight, I'm dressing up as a bunny girl... but with a few more clothes on. Lord help me hehe.

Apparently, in final year, I dress up a whooooooole lot more!

Shower and a glass of wine is called for at this stage I think. If there are any ideas of very quick costumes (it's animal fancy dress), then please let me know!!!

Yours, in desperation.

Just Another Day

Okay, it's not quite so cold this morning. Cold. But not as cold. Thank goodness. I swear this part of the world sees more rain and wind than.... rain and wind land?

So the plan for today... I'm in work from 11-3. It'll be the first shift where I can actually talk in a week! Think my bosses and co-workers will be happy about that. Means I can go on the tills instead of just putting delivery out.

Then after work, need to do some more reflection! Can't wait!!! Then going round to a friend's for a couple of drinks... apparently not dressed up. Will look like the odd one out, but it's okay. I can be photographer!

Then coming back to reflect that little bit more. Think I'll know myself inside out by the end of this!!!! Hehe.

Undoubtedly, I'll post with lots of little random things as the day goes on. Through procrastination more than anything.... apparently it's something I specialise in.

Anyway, I'd best go get ready really. Start in 49mins! Whoops!

Toodle pip.

So...

ohmygawd

Well. It's November now, and this is usually around about the time that my blog's start to get updated more and more. Now that I've settled back into uni and a kind of half stable work pattern, I can focus on documenting my final year!

Final year... can't believe I'm here already! Doesn't seem all that long ago I was writing from Brock Halls saying how first year was hectic. Didn't know a THING back then!!!!!! This year so far, handed in 2 group assignments (presentations) and 1 written. Not too bad, but there's a lot more work that has to go into things in final year. Just as a warning to those out there who think that actually it's not that bad. 3am mornings may have to become normal later on in the year, would you believe?!

Take last week for example. Had an essay due in.... got to the library at 11am. Ended up starting the essay over twice, and then leaving the library at 7.15am the next morning. Madness! But totally worth it. It's sort of woken me up. So much so, that it's only Tuesday and I'm now writing a reflective essay that's due on Friday. Big improvement for me!! But not very good at reflecting. Would much rather just be happy with who I am and accept how I got here without having to analyse it all. Admittedly, blogging has helped out a lot!! It does come in useful after all.

Getting back into uni-life following work placement has been the hardest thing I've had to do though. Really difficult to get from work-mode into uni-mode. Especially with having a part time job too. It seems as if I'm more focussed on my job than on the uni work. So need to get my priorities straightened out! I work there 3 days a week for 4 hours at a time. Works out quite nicely. However, I've not been able to do as many shifts lately due to 2 bouts of laryngitis. Let me tell you, LJ, not being able to talk is NO fun at all!!!!!!

Went to the hospital yesterday too. Having to start on a whole new weight loss regime with the help of the NHS. Life is all good fun at the moment lol. I'm either in uni, at work, or at some medical establishment of some description.

Going out for pre-drinks tomorrow though for a friend's birthday. Can't believe Manisha is dressing up as a cow, whilst everyone else is dressing up as butterflies, ladybirds, bumble bees etc. She's just liking making statements. At Christmas, apparently, she's dressing up as a present!!!!!!

I'm going as an elf! Yay! Need to find a costume!

Anyway, I'm going to go and do some uni work now..... at 23:54.
This WILL happen.

Loves much.

Somewhat Amused

  • Aug. 20th, 2008 at 8:52 PM
ohmygawd

Well, today's been an odd day really. Work was quiet, but then after work, I went to get the bus, as normal.

Me: *leaning against the bollard*
Conductor guy: Cheer up, love, it's not the end of the world.
Me: I would, but... the back of my feet are torn to shreds.
C: I'm not surprised with heels like that.
M: They're not that high!
C: Lift the bottom of your trousers up?
M: *does so*
C: It's still a good inch off the ground!
M: Yeah, not that high!
C: Every inch counts!
Guys around: *laugh*
M: *rolls eyes*
C: I don't know. You always here women moaning about their feet. Never hear men moaning.
M: Sure you do. Just not about their feet.
C: *silence*
Other guys: She has a point......

So, after this, I now have conductor guys phone number, and he's invited me for drinks in Manchester one day. Rather amused me, really. Though, he now knows my name and where I work. Damn name tags.

Either way, the backs of my feet are still torn to shreds. Stupid shoes. Irene gave me plasters today though, saved me buying a box, bless her.

Tomorrow's the job interview. Kind of looking forward to it! Not prepared, but don't think I need to do much prep really. Think about good/bad customer service experiences, talk about my last retail position, and generally be nice and bubbly etc? It might work. I'm sure they'll let me know soon enough if it doesn't though.

So, I'm going to go and watch Wimbledon. Not the competition. The film. It's a bit late for the tournament, reall. Can't believe it's dark at 9pm. Summer really is over already :(

Oh, and apparently I'm going to Florida next year??? So Donna says anyways hehe.

Let's get this on the road, shall we?

So, this last weekend saw the first birthday party of the "returners from placement". As a result, it seemed like a pretty good place to start.

This is Hayley about to go into her final year of uni. It sort of carries on from [info]unihayz - "Parties, Hangovers and Deadlines" from two years ago, but obviously there has also been a year between that where I became crap at journal updating. Therefore, I am here, right now, with a year of my life undocumented.

It's sort of sad.

So, I shall put the most of it in this entry, I think. Document it in a couple of paragraphs. Doesn't that sound fun?!

But if you have known me for the last year, and had every detail of every day repeated to you, let me know.

I've been working for a local council in Lancashire (not going to tell you which one, cos I'm mean like that :P)

Working in their tourism department, I've helped to organise events for various things, fired a cannon, been back to the Dickensian era and been driven up the wall some days by various things.

(Monica just made my head hurt.......)

So yeah, but I've learnt a lot along the way... so that's what matters huh?

Now, documenting this year.

I actually can't wait to go back to uni. Meeting up with Manisha for her birthday the other day was brilliant! She had a neon themed night out. Drank far too much, and had a very interesting conversation on the way home. The people who I want to know about this conversation know already... but I'm still not sure what to do about it. Will decide at some point or another.

Have a job interview on Thursday too for the student shop on campus!! Really excited for it actually. Went for an interview for a summer job a couple of months ago, and was SO nervous... but for this one, I'm okay. At least for now.

Wooo! Just heard off April, my bestest friend ever! She's lovely, but not back until September 12th. Which is a shame... because I'm hoping to be at home as my brother is running a half-marathon.  So, should really be there. Plus I've not been back since May... it's a very loooong time. For me anyway.

Going to visit my mum on Saturday though-------

BRB - Scotsman on the phone.........

Wow. Half an hour.

So, uni starts again on September 18, and I need to summarise my year in a presentation and poster.... Goodness knows how!! Will look into it on Thursday in a little more detail I think.

And I'm rambling now, so will leae it here and tell you more tomorrow, hopefully in a more coherant fashion.

Much loves xxx
